Meet the Team: Linda Cauley

“One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing new buyers experience owning a home for the first time,” says Linda Cauley, Real Estate Assistant at Whitehurst, Blackburn & Warren. With over 30 years in real estate law, she’s a staple in the WBW office and has experienced the best part of her job many times.

Linda is a South Georgia native and a graduate of Thomas County Central and Thomas University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Linda began her extensive career in real estate law when Bill Blackburn and Bruce Warren hired her in 1987. Over the years, she has become friends with her clients and often hears back from them after successful closings.

“That often means return clients,” she says with a smile.

During her career, Linda completed a brief stint in the title business where her primary title client was Whitehurst, Blackburn & Warren. Then she returned “home” to WBW as an assistant in the real estate department. When asked about the rewarding parts her job, Linda quickly says, "I love accomplishing the seemingly impossible in terms of clearing up old real estate problems for people.”

On any given day, you will find Linda completing title searches, preparing legal documents, and maintaining closing files. "We're in a busy law firm, and there are lots of details in real estate transactions,” she explains.

Outside of the hustle and bustle of the firm, Linda is an active member of Coolidge Baptist Church where she often leads the children’s Sunday school class.

Linda has two daughters, Lindsey and Cameron, and two granddaughters, Ella and Sadie. She also considers WBW a second family and is thankful for her “home away from home” at work. “The attorneys always allow us the flexibility to take care of our families at home, too," she says.

With 32 years of experience with real estate transactions, Linda emphasizes the importance of engaging a law firm in real estate matters: “Real estate law is enjoyable, but it can also be potentially problematic. It's important for clients to have guidance.”
